Established in 1966, The Vandoo is Vanier College’s student operated newspaper. Funded and operated through Vanier College Council, The Vandoo is published monthly with a circulation of approximately 2000 issues. The focus of the newspaper is on Vanier College, with attention paid to current events, Vanier clubs and affiliates, sports, lifestyle, arts, technology and humour. It is staffed by a team of editors and writers who work on each issue, as well as contributing writers from the Vanier community. The Vandoo is always looking for new writers and contributors with new ideas or material to offer. Anyone interested is welcome to drop by the office or contact the Editor-in-Chief directly.
The Vandoo is published seven times during the academic year (September to April inclusive) with a circulation of 1500. Funds are administered to The Vandoo through Vanier College Council. All submissions to The Vandoo become property of the newspaper; please make a copy of your writing or artwork.
Letters to the editor are welcome. They should be typewritten and double-spaced if possible. All letters must be signed by the writer and include a telephone number or address at which the contributor can be contacted. Anonymous letters will not be printed but names can be withheld upon request. The Vandoo reserves the right to edit any letter for length, and to withhold all correspondence which is of libelous nature. Submissions are preferred by email or delivered to The Vandoo office at 111 Vanier College or the Vanier College Council office at 121 Vanier College.
