App of The Month: Coursera

Available on both IOS and Android, Coursera is this month’s choice for the app of the month.

Coursera is an application that links students, professionals, and learners from across the world with an easy to use interface. The app offers hundreds of courses with lectures that you can stream both online and offline at any time that is convenient for you.

The courses are free from over 100 global universities and educational institutions. A few schools include Stanford, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale. You can surf and watch lectures from some of the best instructors at any time and anywhere you are.

The courses range between four to ten weeks, with one to two hours of lectures a week. Coursera offers weekly exercises, quizzes, and peer-graded assignments. Sometimes courses have a final project or exam.

Coursera offers a variety of subjects from engineering to computer science to digital marketing. With over 1,000 on-demand courses and a variety of selection.

After going through a 4-week Mandarin course offered on Coursera, I found it overall useful and enjoyable. It wasn’t like it took too much of my time up every week and taught me a useful language skill.

The beauty of the application is that you don’t need Wi-Fi to access the lectures. This was an extremely useful feature because I had the ability to watch lectures and do quizzes while on the bus without using all my monthly data.

If you’re looking to enhance your knowledge in a simple and convenient way Coursera is today’s hottest educational application for you.
